RWJBarnabas Health Launches Weight Management Programs for Children and Adults

While obesity is a national epidemic, it is preventable and treatable.

RWJBarnabas Health is launching two exciting weight management programs to benefit the communities we serve. Both programs will take place at the Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care Center, Center for Health and Wellness, located at 200 South Orange Avenue, Livingston, NJ.

Adult Program
The 12-week adult weight management program effectively transforms the mind and body through dietary adjustments, supervised exercise instruction and stress management. The team of experts includes a registered dietitian, exercise physiologist and a health coach, who will introduce participants to new nutritional habits, help establish the principles of proper exercise and strength training and provide tools to support well-being and stress management.

The adult program will be held every Monday, from 6 to 8pm, starting October 2, 2017. Patients can register by calling 973-322-7444, prompt #2.

This 9-week program is an all-inclusive wellness program that teaches children, teens and their families how to live a healthier life through nutrition and physical activity. The KidsFit team includes a registered dietitian, exercise physiologist and social worker. The team addresses treatment and prevention of obesity and focuses on cultivating healthy lifestyles and behaviors.

KidsFit will be held every Tuesday, from 6 to 8pm, starting October 3, 2017. Patients can register or you can make a referral by calling Judy Epstein, LSW, or Leslie Killeen, MS, RD, CDE at 973-322-6900.
