Dr. Kumta joined Newark Beth Israel Medical Center as its Director for Inpatient Pediatrics in July 2017, after having worked for nearly thirteen years as a Pediatric Hospitalist at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. She completed a Residency in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, Michigan, after obtaining an M.B.B.S. degree from Seth G.S. Medical College in Mumbai, India, and had previously been a Private Pediatrician in Mumbai, India, for more than five years.
Her current activities, reflecting her strong interest in fostering Medical Education, include Teaching Rounds and Board Review Preparation for Pediatric Residents and Medical Students. In addition, she has been a long-time advocate for Breastfeeding, providing Lactation Management training to Pediatric and OB/GYN Residents.
