    Robert D. Jongco, M.D. is a board-certified attending anesthesiologist, for interventional pain at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RJMS). He received his undergraduate and Master’s degrees from Georgetown University in Washington, DC and his M.D. from Penn State College of Medicine. After several years in private practice, Dr. Jongco has returned to RWJMS where he completed his anesthesiology residency and pain medicine fellowship. He has collaborated on a multitude of presentations with his peers for the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) annual meetings, Annual Symposium on Regional Anesthesia, Pain and Perioperative Medicine, New York State Society of Anesthesiologists (NYSSA) meetings and other professional events. He has been a co-investigator on the study, “Evaluation of the Learning Curves of Anesthesia Faculty at Performing Fiber-Optic Upper Airway Endoscopy in the Simulation Environment: Use of the Cumulative Sum Analysis,” at Penn State University. He has also co-authored articles such as “Postoperative Pain Comparison of Thoracotomy Patients Receiving Liposomal Bupivicaine Nerve Blocks to Minimally Invasive Video-assisted Thorascopic Surgery,” published in the Clinical Journal of Pain as well as “Liposomal Bupivicaine (Exparel) Reduces Thoracic Surgery Post-Operative Pain and Reduces Length of Stay, a Retrospective Study” in the Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia. Dr. Jongco believes in the importance of giving back to the community and has volunteered in numerous health fairs and participated in several medical missions to the Philippines. Dr. Jongco takes a whole body approach to treating his patients. He is particularly interested in the use of neuromodulation and the role of regenerative medicine in the treatment of acute and chronic pain.

    Dr. Jongco was born and raised in New Jersey, but is a lifelong New York Knicks fan. When he is not treating patients, he enjoys playing golf, working out and spending time with his wife, son, and dog.
