How to Apply

Application Process

The Department of Anesthesiology offers a fully accredited four-year anesthesia residency. In addition to the 3 available positions in each of the CA-1, CA-2 and CA-3 years, a position for the clinical base year PGY-1 is also offered. Applications are accepted exclusively through the ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service). Contact Angela Miller, at angela.miller@rwjbh.org.

A complete application includes a recent photograph, personal statement, a Dean’s letter with transcript, certificates, ECFMG, if applicable, and 2 additional letters of recommendation.

The deadline for receipt of a completed application is December 31.

After careful review, selected applicants are invited for formal interviews, which are held throughout January and February. The formal interview process includes a tour of the facility, a program overview, and interviews with both residents and attendings, both of which will be glad to answer questions. This is followed by a lunch attended by the residents. Interviewed applicants are encouraged to return and spend a day with the residents to further acquaint themselves with our program.
